North Raleigh Neighborhood

North Raleigh, North Carolina, is located north of Millbrook Road. North Raleigh neighborhoods offer large lot sizes, beautiful countryside, and mature trees, while land and property prices here remain reasonable. North Raleigh communities range from established to new suburban subdivisions. Nearby schools are excellent, and commuting is a breeze to downtown and surrounding Raleigh communities via I-540, I-440, and I-40. The Raleigh Durham International Airport is conveniently located nearby. This is the primary airport for the Raleigh area and the second largest in the state. Attractions are plentiful in North Raleigh with parks, shopping, and golfing.

Durant Nature Park is a popular outdoor family destination in the area for picnicking, dog-walking, biking, and nature viewing. A bird and butterfly garden is located here with nearly 200 bird species. Another popular park is William B. Umstead State Park. This massive park offers fishing, horseback riding, and hiking. Shelley Lake and Park also offers excellent fishing, even loaning fishing tackle to help introduce people to the fun of fishing. Boat rental is also available, giving visitors the chance to explore the beautiful blue waters of Shelley Lake.

A premier Raleigh shopping destination in the area is North Hills. With over 100 stores and boutiques there is sure to be something for everyone. Along with shopping, North Hills offers a theater, spa and fitness center, and various dining options from casual dining such as Chick-fil-A, to fine dining such as Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Another fantastic shopping destination in North Raleigh is Lafayette Village. This new outdoor shopping experience offers European-style shopping, including gourmet food markets, boutiques, and bistros. Cobblestone streets, massive fountains, towering oaks, and charming European architecture create a unique shopping experience.

Golfing in North Raleigh includes, Wildwood Country Club, an upscale semi-private golf facility with 18-holes, a driving range, two putting greens, and a practice bunker. North Ridge Country Club, a private club, offers two 18-hole courses, tennis, a fitness center, and an Olympic-sized pool.
