Southeast Raleigh Neighborhood

Southeast Raleigh is a large neighborhood, with boundaries extending from the exterior border of downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Areas of Interstate 40 and of Interstate 440 are included in Southeast Raleigh in this diverse neighborhood.

A number of main roads weave through this area, with lesser roads intertwining into more residential areas. Pockets of businesses maintain convenient options for the community, and the area’s many unique venues help bring extra revenue in to the community.

The Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion is one major attraction in Southeast Raleigh, located on Rock Quarry Road. This outdoor amphitheater attracts numerous visitors to its major concert events. Seating is available for about 20,000 people at the venue, which also includes an expansive lawn.

This neighborhood is populated with a vast array of creeks, rivers, lakes, and ponds. Basically put, nearly every residential area in Southeast Raleigh has some body of water nearby. The Neuse River, with its enchanting presence, is widely popular for canoeing and kayaking.

Anderson Point Park is located at the confluence of the Neuse River and Crabtree Creek. The four-mile Neuse River Trail can be accessed here as well. This park is particularly enjoyed by birdwatchers, with more than 90 species of birds documented in the park and along the trail. Scenic views also make this a photo stop for some, while others simply like to relax and enjoy a day of fishing.

Some of the larger lakes here include Emily Babcock Lake and the Turfgrass Lakes.
