Fargo at a Glance
One of the treasures of Southpointe, Fargo, is the portion of the Milwaukee Trail that runs right down the center. The part of this hiking and biking trail that bisects Southpointe goes through open green space and Brunsdale Park. The annual Fargo Marathon uses this route as part of its 26.2 mile course.
The Rheault Farm, a 15-acre property to the northwest of the neighborhood, is part of the Fargo Park District. It draws people from around the area to visit its 20th century buildings and to attend the various festivals held during the year. Golfers will find the Rose Creek Golf Course less than two miles south of the neighborhood.
Southpointe is a fairly new neighborhood, with development having started during the mid-1980s. It has an assortment of housing choices, including single family homes, townhouses, duplexes, condos and apartments. The abundance of trees and lawns, plus the green strip of the Milwaukee Trail, offer a quiet, suburban lifestyle, yet it is less than four miles from downtown Fargo.
Nearby churches include the Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church on 32nd Avenue South, the Prairie Heights Community Church on 18th Street South, and Hope Lutheran Church on 25th Street South, all within a mile of the center of Southpointe. Discovery Middle School on 40th Avenue South is just outside the southern border and the Children’s Montessori Center on Tom Williams Drive is a mile north.
