Woodhaven is one of Fargo, North Dakota’s newest and fastest-growing neighborhoods. Located southwest of downtown, the area is home to the campus of Microsoft Business Solutions, on Woodhaven’s eastern end. The area south of the neighborhood, past 52nd Avenue South, is largely undeveloped, making this a very quiet part of town with a bit of a country feel. To the west is Osgood Golf Course. Interstate 29 is located conveniently just to the east. The MAT bus system offers service along 40th Avenue South and 42nd Street South.

Development of the community began in 2001, and is still ongoing. Housing is a mixture of single-family homes and multifamily apartments. Kennedy Elementary School, on 42nd Street South, is in the center of Woodhaven. Adjacent to the school is a small park with shaded picnic areas and a playground. Bike paths encircle the park and school, and run along the perimeter of the neighborhood.

The closest high school is Shanley High, on 25th Street South, two miles east on the other side of Interstate 29. Living Waters Christian Church and Preschool are on 40th Avenue South on Woodhaven’s northern edge. Calvary United Methodist Church is off of 45th Street South on the western end. Grace Orthodox Presbyterian is on 36th Street Southwest off of Interstate 29.

The closest restaurants are along Interstate 29 and 40th Avenue South. They include the chains Subway, Domino’s, Extreme Pita, Caribou Coffee, and Dairy Queen. A wider selection can be found at West Acres Shopping Center, about four miles north via Interstate 29. That same roadway leads to Hector International Airport and North Dakota State University-Fargo. Farther east on 52nd Avenue South, past the interstate, are Rose Creek Golf Course and the Red River, a local fishing spot.
