Trinity College - Hartford, CT

Established in 1823, Trinity College is the second-oldest college in Connecticut. This private, liberal arts college offers 38 majors. The beautiful campus wraps around a central green called the Main Quad, which was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same landscape architect who designed Central Park in Manhattan.

Northam Towers, Jarvis Hall, and Seabury Hall are the core buildings on campus, and the group forms the college’s “Long Walk.” The Victorian Gothic-style buildings were built in the 1870s and are the oldest example of Collegiate Gothic architecture in the US.

Trinity College offers 38 majors as well as several options for minors. Master’s degrees are available in English, American Studies, and Public Policy. The college is highly selective and considered one of the best colleges in the nation.

Trinity College’s 100-acre campus is located in Hartford, the capital of Connecticut. Hartford was settled in 1635, making it one of the oldest cities in the country. The city contains several historic sites, including the oldest public park, Bushnell Park, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Wadsworth Atheneum is the oldest public art museum in the US, built in 1842.

To find an apartment near Trinity College, look in the Frog Hollow neighborhood. Frog Hollow also contains Pope Park, a park donated to Hartford in 1895 by Colonel Albert Pope. Other nearby neighborhoods include Barry Square, Behind the Rocks, and South End. Downtown Hartford is only about a mile north of Trinity College, and public transit is available throughout the area.
