The University of Iowa - Iowa City, IA

In the heart of Iowa along the banks of the Iowa River, the University of Iowa features a beautiful campus both in its location and in its architecture. UI was established in 1847 and is the oldest public university in the state. It is one of the top research universities in the nation and is part of the Big 10. The university boasts many high-ranking colleges, including their high-ranking medical program and the Speech-Language Pathology program, ranked the best in the nation by US News and World Report.

The most famous building on the UI campus is the Iowa Old Capitol Building, built in 1842 as the main government building. When Des Moines became the capital of Iowa, the building became the cornerstone of the university. It is registered as a National Historic Landmark.
