Founded in 1898, Northeastern University is a private, coeducational research university located in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. The University is a founding member of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment. In 2011, Northeastern received 43,000 undergraduate applications for the fall semester, the largest for any private university in the United States. In fact, the school ranked second on the list of “Up-and-coming National Universities” by US News and World Report, who also name Northeastern a Tier 1 National Research University. The school has ranked first for four consecutive years by the Princeton Review for “Best Internships/Career Services.”
