Trinity University - San Antonio, TX
In 1869, three small Cumberland Presbyterian colleges that suffered financially during the Civil War banded together to form Trinity University. The school was originally located in Tehuacana, Texas. In 1902, it moved to Waxahachie. After another move closer to San Antonio, Trinity University finally established their current location in Midtown San Antonio in 1952.
Although its beginnings were somewhat rocky, today Trinity University is a highly-respected private liberal arts institution. The Princeton Review included Trinity in its 2014 list of the Best 378 Colleges, and was ranked first for the western region in US News & World Report‘s 2014 “Regional University Rankings.” It is also considered one of the best values for a private college. Trinity has six degree programs with 42 majors and 57 minors.
The 117-acre campus is located in northern San Antonio between the Monte Vista Historic District and Brackenridge Park. This beautiful 347-acre park is home to the Japanese Tea Garden, the San Antonio Zoo, the Sunken Garden Theater, Lambert Beach, a playscape, a golf course, three picnic pavilions, and hiking trails. The Monte Vista Historic District is one of San Antonio’s most popular neighborhoods and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making this the ideal location for your apartment near Trinity University. During your apartment search, be sure to look in other Midtown neighborhoods, such as Beacon Hill, Edison, Alta Vista, Tobin Hill, River Road, and Five Points.
