Beechwood Neighborhood

The Beechwood neighborhood is located in Columbus, Ohio. The community is bordered by South Hamilton Road on the east and East Livingston Avenue on the south. Downtown Columbus is a couple of miles to the east, while the Port Columbus International Airport is just north of the community.

The residents have access to a variety of parks and recreation centers spread out in the surrounding areas. The closest one to the neighborhood is the Barnett Park and Recreational Center. The center’s amenities include an art room, auditorium, billiards room, ceramics, fitness room, game room, gymnasium, kiln room, kitchen, lobby, and weight room. The park features a one of a kind “sprayground,” where patrons are sprayed with water from different types of playground equipment. The park also features numerous baseball fields, a basketball court, playground, and softball and soccer fields. Other parks in the area are the Johnson Memorial Park, Argus Park, Courtright Park, Canini Park, and Shady Lane Park.

The community’s educational needs are served by Walnut Ridge High School, Scottwood Elementary School, Bishop Hartley High School, Johnson Park Middle School and Sherwood Middle School.

Just across Livingston Avenue is the Livingston Court Shopping Center, which includes a Family Dollar Store. Other shopping centers close to the community are the Great Eastern Shoppers Mart Shopping Center, Carnaby Mall Shopping Center, and the Main 270 Shopping Center.

The community is served by the Ohio State University Hospital and the Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Convenient access to Interstate 70 allows the residents to enjoy all of Columbus’s historic sites and attractions spread throughout the city.
