It is a group that earned their spot in the national spotlight with the folk boom of the 60s. The name Brandywine also has a connection to the American Revolutionary War. The Brandywine school district is comprised of Merritt Elementary and Brandywine Middle/High School. In serving their community, the district has an exercise program for the public. School buildings are available for this purpose. The athletic program of the district is quite broad in giving students the opportunity to participate in various sports activities and teams. One unique program started on June 1, 2010 by the Brandywine school district is an eligibility calculator by Dynamite Sports.
