Brookside Woods Neighborhood

The Brookside Woods neighborhood features large homes on expansive lawns. Indeed, the large, open lawns create an overall atmosphere of understated elegance and tranquility. The neighborhood surrounds the Brookside Country Club, one of the oldest in Columbus and within 3 miles of another venerable country club, York Temple Country Club.

There are several estate-like two-story homes close to the country club. Most homes are sprawling brick ranch homes. Brookside Woods is bound by Snouffer Road, West Dublin Granville Road and Sawmill Road in zip code 43235.

Not only are the neighborhood’s country clubs historic, nearby Worthington Inn dates to 1831. It is a fine dining establishment now, offering a sophisticated menu in a lovely setting. The Worthington Inn offers live jazz and special Wine Dinners on Wednesdays. It is also a popular place for weddings.

Sun Center is the closest shopping area, featuring a Whole Foods Market, Barnes and Noble, and major retailers such as Stein Mart. A half dozen other small retail centers and independent establishments can be found within three miles.

Easton Town Center is a short drive southeast. A planned community of retail, office, entertainment, and residential sites, Easton Town Center provides upscale shopping, with 147 stores from Abercrombie to Yves Delorme. Additionally, there are fitness centers, theaters and live entertainment venues.

Brookside Woods is well served with neighborhood parks and recreational sites. About five miles north is The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and Safari Golf – part of the zoo complex. These are located on the southeast side of O’Shaughnessy Reservoir. The dam at O’Shaughnessy was recently placed on the National Register of Historic Sites.

The Ohio State University is approximately 10 miles south. Private and prestigious Otterbein University is about 10 miles east. Both are easily accessed by I-270, just north of Brookside Woods.
