Forest Park West Neighborhood

The Forest Park West neighborhood is bound by East Dublin Granville Road, Karl Road, and I-71 to the west. Most of the southern part of this Columbus neighborhood is Woodward Park. Residences in this area range from smaller ranch homes to more spacious two-story structures. Lawns are well tended, and sidewalks make the area very walkable.

There are several nice parks convenient to this neighborhood. Woodward Park and Recreation Center provides athletic fields and courts, a nature preserve, and programs for all ages. Walden Park has athletic fields, courts, and a playground. Cooper Park is not far away, and along with the usual park facilities, provides access to the Alum Creek Multi-Use Trail.

As befitting the hometown of Jack Nicklaus, golf courses are everywhere. The City of Columbus maintains seven. There are half a dozen public golf courses close to the Forest Park West community. Champions Golf Course is about two miles away. York Temple, Worthington Hills, and New Albany are three of the closest private country clubs. Residents of this neighborhood also enjoy easy access to two good state parks, Delaware and Alum, for camping, boating, fishing, swimming, and winter sports.

Shopping and entertainment options are close by as well. The Screens at the Continent is the nearest movie complex. Easton Town Center is a destination for dining and shopping. Following the contemporary design concept of urban shopping, Easton features highly regarded retailers and restaurants. Macy’s, Ann Taylor, Nordstrom, and Barnes & Noble are just a few of the most popular retailers.

This neighborhood is very conveniently located to The Ohio State University, Interstate 71, and Port Columbus International Airport. The community is also well served by public transit stops.
