The Fairway Neighborhood
To the east of downtown Columbus, just inside the outer ring of freeways that surround it, is the neighborhood of The Fairway. Some of the area is fairly densely wooded, while some sections are more open. The homes in The Fairway are mostly modern colonials, ranch, and split-level styles of medium size. Some of the homes on Fairway Boulevard have backyards bordering the fairways of the Columbus Country Club. Listed property along Fairway Boulevard runs from around $157,000 to more than $2 million.
The Four Seasons Golf Center is a convenient place for residents to practice their golf swings. It is located just north of the Columbus Country Club, in Whitehall Community Park. The center offers lessons, has a dome driving range, and also features miniature golf.
There are a wide variety of different types of schools nearby. They include Whitehall Yearling High School, Eastmoor Academy High School, Columbus Torah Academy, Holy Spirit School, and Olde Orchard Alternative Elementary School.
Restaurants in The Fairway area include the King Gyros Greek Restaurant, Mad Greek, City Barbeque, and Indochine Café. Some great places to go to catch a first-run film are Cinema City Columbus, Drexel Theatre, and Cinemark Movies 16–Gahanna. Columbus has some very fine museums. Among them are the Columbus Museum of Art, Kelton House, and the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum.
Many Fairway residents enjoy visiting the Arena District. In this popular and acclaimed area is the Nationwide Arena, which hosts the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets and various world-class events. Also nearby are the Columbus Convention Center, restaurants, and theaters. In addition, there’s Huntington Park, the home of the AAA Columbus Clippers.
