Woodward Park Neighborhood

Woodward Park is in the northern section of Columbus. The boundaries of Woodward Park are Morse Road to the south, Interstate 71 to the west, Boxwood Drive to the north, and Karl Road to the east.

The subdivision of Woodward Park was built in the 1960s and consists of mainly three-bedroom homes. There are some rentals, but most homes are single-family detached and include a garage. The streets are wide and have sidewalks. The maple trees are mature, providing shaded streets just perfect for an afternoon stroll.

Woodward Park is served by Valley Forge Elementary School at 1321 Urban Drive and is a part of the Columbus School District. St. Anthony Catholic School and Parish are at 1300 Urban Drive and offer a traditional Catholic education. Woodward Park Middle School is at 5151 Karl Road and is the middle school for the Columbus School District.

Columbus, Ohio has an extensive park system. Woodward Park is in the Woodward Park subdivision and has turf fields, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, a playground, a picnic area, and a community center; it is within walking distance of all of Woodward Park. Fedderson Park and Recreation center is on Dresden Road, with tennis, basketball, recreation center with educational opportunities, and green space.

There are many colleges and universities in the greater Columbus area. Capital University at 1 College and Main is a private, four-year institution with a highly respected post-graduate law school. Ohio Dominican University is at 1216 Sunbury Road, east of Downtown, and is a 100-year old liberal arts college founded in the Catholic and Dominican tradition. The Columbus College of Art and Design at 107 North Ninth Street is uniquely equipped to help artists turn their passion into a vocation. Ohio State University, the country’s largest land grant university, has 50,000 students attending the main campus on North High Street.
