New Carlisle is a terrific city located about 12 miles west of Springfield. The city has a long, rich history, dating back to 1810. In 1933, it was the New Carlisle National Bank that became the first bank robber for John Dillinger, and it is the birthplace of “Fearless Freddy,” Army General Fredrick Funston, who is famous for his role in the Spanish-American War.

New Carlisle is a progressive, fast-growing city with many businesses, shops, restaurants, and apartments to rent. The city has an extensive parks system that includes playgrounds, ball fields, an amphitheater, a skate park, tennis courts, a 3.6-mile hiking trail, and an outdoor heated swimming pool.
