Little Turtle Neighborhood
The Little Turtle subdivision of Westerville, Ohio is in the 43081 zip code. The neighborhood is bordered on the south by Route 161, and is between Sunbury Road on the west and Ulry Road on the east. Little Turtle encompasses all the streets that are along the Little Turtle Golf Club.
The Little Turtle Golf Club was built in the late 1960s and early 1970s and was named after an important Miami Indian Chief. It was designed to accommodate homes along the course, which were built between 1974 and 1990. The neighborhood of Little Turtle is made up of detached, single-family homes and condo developments. Most of the homes have a view of the course in one way or another. Little Turtle homes are very nice, and offer the prestige of living on a golf course at a more affordable price. Houses are large and most were built with lots of upgrades; the condos are executive designs, built with luxury in mind.
Little Turtle has a lot going for it as a neighborhood. Located near major arterial streets and interstates, it’s an easy commute to Columbus or any of the surrounding suburbs for work or play. There are no through streets, so all the traffic is neighborhood or golf course traffic, making it a quiet and safe area for kids. A big reason families move in is that the public schools are in the Westerville School District, one of the best in the region.
Golf is on the mind in Little Turtle. The Little Turtle Country Club is a reasonable choice for its country club environment and Pete Dye-designed course and first-class dining facilities. Minerva Lake Golf Club is a public course just a few miles from Little Turtle that is unique in its urban design and front-10, back-8 layout.
