Worthington Crossing Neighborhood

Worthington Crossing is in the Greater Columbus Area, near Westerville. The boundaries are a line from Philadelphia Road to Worthington Galena Road on the south, Sancus Boulevard on the west, Lazelle Road to the north, and Worthington Galena Road to the east.

The neighborhood is a newer subdivision built during a rapid expansion of the Westerville area. Most of the homes were constructed in the 1990s and include a mix of detached homes, condos, and town homes in addition to rentals.

Home prices and rents command a high price, partly because the public schools are in the Worthington School District, which is highly respected in the Columbus area. The local elementary school is Worthington Park, where the students achieve high scores on proficiency tests.

Parks are a big part of the Westerville area. The wooded 761-acre Sharon Woods Metro Park is five minutes east of Worthington Crossing and has a fishing pond, playgrounds, picnic areas, a lodge for meetings or events, and a walking path. Highbanks Metro Park is five minutes in the other direction and has many of the same amenities, with a popular jogging path through the woods and the natural hills that make up the park. Boaters have just a few minutes’ drive to Alum Creek State Park, which features hiking trails, a dog park, camping and cabin rentals, and a 3,800-acre lake for boating and fishing.

Sports fans in Columbus have many options. The Columbus Crew is one of the original major league soccer teams and has a passionate base of soccer-crazy fans. The Blue Jackets hit the ice at Nationwide Arena and play in the National Hockey League. College sports fans are in heaven, with one of the largest football programs in the country at The Ohio State University, as they cheer on the Buckeyes at the Horseshoe Stadium.
