Lakehurst Neighborhood

Lakehurst community of Oklahoma City is located in a vast prairie of beautiful plains, stately oak trees and gorgeous countryside. It is a vibrant neighborhood, enhanced by the unending, open skies. Deer, bison, squirrels and prairie dogs live and thrive in the fields. Multiple species of birds fly overhead and migrate through the area.

Lakehurst is established in an optimum part of town. It is a suburban district located a few miles east of Oklahoma City, south of Edmond and in the central portion of the state. It is prominently positioned on the northeast border of Lake Hefner, one of Oklahoma’s largest lakes and most popular recreation destinations.

Lake Hefner is deemed one of Oklahoma’s premier locales for a variety of water activities including fishing, sailing, boat races and water sports. It is also a great place for family picnics and events. There are miles of trails to roam around Lake Hefner. Additional features include a golf course and athletic fields.

Lakehurst community is in the vicinity of several country clubs like Quail Creek Golf and Country Club, Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club, and Twin Hills Golf and Country Club. Each facility offers a variety of desirable activities to members, featuring fabulous dining, tennis, swimming pools and entertaining events throughout the year.

Most of the homes in the region were built over a 40-year span between 1950 and 1990, with a spike in new development during the 1980s. Most residents have lived in Lakehurst for years, making this a safe, comfortable and well-established community.
