Outer Northwest Oklahoma City Neighborhood

One of the most exclusive areas of the city, Northwest Oklahoma City is home to some of the town’s wealthiest residents. Large new homes stand side-by-side on substantial lots, offering accommodations to successful families. The tree-lined streets are perfect for an evening stroll, and there are plenty of amenities to make Northwest Oklahoma City a highly desirable neighborhood.

Lake Hefner sits on the southeastern portion of Northwest Oklahoma City. The 2,500 square foot lake is well stocked with several types of fish. An enclosed heated fishing dock allows residents to be comfortable year-round while casting off in search of a big catch. A dry dock and boat ramp lets residents store their boats for when they want to hit the water. The lake is connected to the 9.1 square mile Lake Hefner Trail system, which features wide, paved paths for pedestrian and bicyclists to enjoy a relaxing trip along the lakeside.

Northwest Oklahoma City is also home to some of the best golf courses in the city. Courses like the Lake Hefner Golf Club, Gaillardia Country Club, and the Quail Creek Country Club appeal to serious golfers who also want private, country club amenities. More casual golfers can try out one of the public courses in the area, such as the Rosecreek Golf Course.

Residents who enjoy aviation can take advantage of one of two smaller airports in the area. Both Wiley Post Airport and Sundance Airpark cater to people who want to fly their smaller, light aircraft. More traditional modes of transportation are also available in Northwest Oklahoma City, as several freeways offer easy access to the rest of the city.
