Rock Knoll Neighborhood
Northwest of downtown Oklahoma City and just to the west of Lake Hefner is the neighborhood of Rock Knoll. It is a neighborhood of medium-sized one and two-story homes and some condos on tree-lined streets. There is also a small lake in the eastern part of the area, and many homes here have lake views. Listings in Rock Knoll range from around $110,000 to around $167,000.
The 2,500-acre Lake Hefner was built in 1947 and offers many attractions, including piers, boat storage facilities, a restaurant area, a covered pavilion, a covered and heated fishing dock, and a golf course. Surrounding the lake are the Lake Hefner Trails. Some of these trails are walking trails only, while other wider trails are shared by pedestrians with the trails’ bike traffic. The trails connect all of the lake’s recreational areas.
The younger set among residents in the Rock Knoll area are served by schools in and near the neighborhood, including Hefner Middle School, Gethsemane Lutheran School and The Andrews School.
Nearby Joe’s Crab Shack is a restaurant that prides itself in being a little bit quirky. The staff enjoys serving up good food in a warm atmosphere, and they aren’t afraid to have fun doing it.
