Springfield Neighborhood

The Springfield neighborhood of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is bordered on the west by South Santé Fe Avenue and on the south by Southeast 89th Street. The Southwest Expressway is Springfield’s northern boundary, and South Shield Boulevard is the eastern border. Springfield Drive is the main entrance to the subdivision, and it opens onto South Shield Boulevard. Springfield is a comfortable, pleasant neighborhood with one-story homes and wide quiet streets. It is in the 73149 zip code area.

Several shopping centers are convenient to the Springfield neighborhood. The Crossroads Shopping Center is located off the Southwest Expressway. Brookwood North Shopping Center and 240 Plaza Shopping Center are also close by. Other landmark locations in the Springfield area are the Oklahoma Center Orthopedic Multi-specialty Surgery on South Walker Avenue and the Oklahoma City Police Station on SE 89th Street.

Two public schools are in the Springfield neighborhood area. Hayes Elementary School is located on Byers Avenue and has a Pre-K to grade six program. Webster Middle School is on South Santé Fe Avenue. Both schools have a four-star community approval rating.

Two 9-hole golf courses are in the area. Brookside Golf Course is known as a nice sporty little course for all age groups and all abilities. Lakeside Golf Course is located on South Eastern Avenue and winds around several small lakes on the course.

Lightning Creek Park and Trails is a favorite neighborhood walking and biking destination. Lightning Creek Trails winds through adjoining neighborhoods following city streams and offering a peaceful and pleasant exercise area.

Johnny Carinos Italian Kitchen on South Walker Avenue is a favorite neighborhood eatery. The Italian kitchen features great pasta with a pleasant atmosphere and inexpensive prices.
