The Greens is a community in northwestern Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, about 20 minutes from the downtown area. This community is largely residential, consisting of about 25 streets and roughly 800 homes. It is located south of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike, north of Northwest 122nd Street, east of North Meridian Avenue, and west of Highway 74. The Greens is situated in the 73120 zip code area, within Oklahoma County. Area communities include Quail Creek and Avalon Woods.
The Greens is conveniently located within walking distance of a variety of amenities, including the Mercy Health Center and the adjacent Oklahoma Heart Hospital, the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club, and Martin Park. The latter hosts the Martin Park Nature Center, a unique center that is part wildlife sanctuary, part recreational area, and part educational facility. The park itself offers 144 beautiful acres, which are popular for wildlife viewing and nature hikes on the more than 3.5 miles of gentle trails offered here.
Just over a mile south of The Greens is one of the city’s most significant outdoor attractions and a popular destination for families, fitness fanatics, and nature lovers. Lake Hefner is a large lake surrounded by nine miles of walking/jogging/biking trails that are also frequented by dog walkers. The lake itself is popular for sailing and fishing.
Adjacent to the lake on the south are three popular parks – Stars and Stripes Park, Lakeshore Park, and Lake Hefner Park. A variety of amenities are offered here, including playgrounds, playing fields, and picnic facilities. The Lake Hefner Golf Course, a public, 18-hole course can be found on the southern shores as well.
For local shopping, residents of The Greens are just a few miles west of a handful of prominent retail centers, including the Quail Springs Mall and the Quail Springs Marketplace.
