Sand Springs, OK Houses for Rent

Six miles west of downtown Tulsa, the suburban city of Sand Springs offers a peaceful lifestyle just slightly removed from the busy heart of the metro area. Sand Springs was founded in 1911 by Charles Page, who hoped to create a model city that included a home for orphans and widows.

Keystone Lake and Keystone State Park are located just west of Sand Springs. It is an ideal fishing location with walleye, bass, striper, and catfish. Boating, water skiing, and swimming are also popular activities. Keystone State Park features lakeview cabins with fireplaces, a campground, boat ramps, the full-service Pier 51 Marina, a community center, picnic areas, a hiking trail, and a fitness trail.

A unique and beautiful hiking destination, Keystone Ancient Forest contains 500-year-old cedars and 300-year-old post-oak trees. The forest spans 1,360 acres and is home to mountain lions, bobcats, deer, eagles, migratory birds, and over 80 species of butterflies.

Local parks include River City Park, which is considered the community hub. It contains ball fields, picnic areas, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, and the River City Trail. Events held here include little league baseball, rodeos, the Fantasy Forest, and holiday events. Sand Springs is also home to the area’s only BMX track, which features a two-acre, lighted moto-cross style bike track, a playground, and concessions.
