Downtown Tulsa Neighborhood

Highlighted by several beautiful Art Deco style concert halls, office buildings and churches, downtown Tulsa is a picturesque and walkable area, with a new arena for large events and a baseball stadium.

Located in the 74103 and 74119 zip codes, downtown Tulsa is bordered on the north by the Crosstown Expressway, on the south by West 15th Street, on the west by South Guthrie Avenue, and on the east by South Cincinnati Avenue.

Residents in downtown Tulsa have easy access to three excellent parks: Boulder Park, Maple Park and Tracy Park. On the southeastern edge of the downtown district, Boulder Park is framed by several impressive Art Deco buildings. Maple Park spans seven acres dotted with a playground area, spray pool, park benches, picnic tables, shady trees and birdhouses. Tracy Park is known for its superb tennis facilities with eight illuminated courts.

One of downtown Tulsa’s most celebrated Art Deco buildings is the Boston Avenue Methodist Church on South Boston Avenue near Boulder Park. The dominant feature of the structure is its 258-foot tower, which has an entrance that leads into a 1,800-seat auditorium. Boston Avenue Methodist Church was designated a National Landmark in 1999.

Downtown Tulsa is home to three of the city’s most important event centers: BOK Center, Brady Theater and Cain’s Ballroom. The 19,100-seat BOK Center is a massive, multi-purpose concert and sports arena. Brady Theater is an Art Deco-style structure built in 1914 that has hosted musical stars such as Willie Nelson and Kenny G. The historic Cain’s Ballroom is a legendary ballroom and concert hall, where the western swing music genre originated with Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys in the 1930s. Today, Cain’s Ballroom hosts acts like Snoop Dogg and the Blues Traveler.
