Mingo Valley is a rural neighborhood approximately six miles east of Downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. With single-family, ranch-style homes, Mingo Valley offers out-of-the-way living while still being close to nearby Downtown Tulsa.
The Mingo Valley neighborhood is encompassed by East 11th Street to the north, South Memorial Drive to the west, East 21st Street to the south, and to the east is the Mingo Valley Expressway. Nearby neighborhoods include Crescent Heights and Moeller Heights.
Mingo Valley is only minutes away from several parks, including McClure Park, Florence Park and Skelly Park. With over 50 acres, McClure Park offers an Olympic-sized pool, picnic areas, playground, and a Frisbee golf course. Although smaller than McClure, Skelly Park also provides a public pool, tennis courts and playground. About 2.5 miles west of Mingo Valley are the Tulsa State Fairgrounds.
Various shopping venues are only minutes from Mingo Valley. To the north are Eastgate Shopping Center and Crosstown Shopping Center. Just northeast is the Rosewood Shopping Center. To the south is the Briar Village Shopping Center.
For an array of dining and entertainment choices, many residents travel the short distance to downtown Tulsa. Popular pubs and nightlife venues include Caz’s Pub and the Deadtown Tavern. Situated in historic downtown is the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Designed by World Trade Center architect, Minoru Yamasaki, the TPAC hosts a variety of events, including plays and concerts from both local and national talent. The Art Gallery offers various exhibits that include the center’s permanent collection.
