Sunrise Terrace Neighborhood

Sunrise Terrace is a little neighborhood tucked between Expo Square fairgrounds and South Harvard Avenue north of 21st Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Most of the housing is cottage-style, single-family homes, with some scattered duplexes and multifamily buildings.

The adjacent commercial strip along Harvard Avenue provides some fast food and casual dining options within walking distance. A few churches and Lanier Elementary of Tulsa Public Schools are also located within Sunrise Terrace.

The major attraction next to Sunrise Terrace is Expo Square, the home of the annual State Fair of Tulsa generally held in early October. There is always an event going on at Expo Square. Horse shows, horse racing, livestock exhibitions, home and garden shows, auto shows, and other conventions and events are held throughout the year. On hot summer days, Sunrise Terrace residents can easily reach the fun Big Splash Water Park in the corner of Expo Squares.

For commuters, Sunrise Terrace is well-connected to the Broken Arrow Expressway which makes it an easy drive into the Central Business District, only about five miles away. Other downtown amenities include the new Bank of Oklahoma Center where Tulsans enjoy the city’s WNBA team and numerous big name concerts. Some growing urban entertainment districts like the Blue Dome, Brady, Cherry Street, and Brookside areas also provide unique dining and nightlife experiences.

Higher education is within easy reach of Sunrise Terrace, with the University of Tulsa campus just a mile north. This private university has a beautiful campus with approximately 8,000 students. Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma also have nearby campus extensions in Tulsa with strong emphasis on medical programs.

For people who love being near year-round entertainment options, Sunrise Terrace is a great neighborhood. Its location in the center of the Tulsa metropolitan area makes it easy to get to all the other parts of Tulsa.
