Sunset Terrace Neighborhood

Tulsa, Oklahoma’s historic Sunset Terrace neighborhood is situated just west of the Arkansas River. Attractive, stately homes on winding, tree-lined streets offer moderate living in Midtown Tulsa. A popular residential area in the 74114 ZIP code, Sunset Terrace contains many mansions and several of the neighborhood’s houses were built between 1920 and 1930.

Bounded by Twenty-First Street in the north, South Cincinnati Avenue on the west, East Twenty-Fourth Place in the south, and South Peoria Avenue to the east, one of Sunset Terrace’s best assets is its proximity to the Midland Valley Trail and River Parks Pedestrian Bridge.

The dog-friendly trail, which is one of two area paths running parallel to the Arkansas River, connects with approximately twenty miles of additional paved trails in Tulsa, and the bridge is a popular site for bird watching throughout all four seasons.

Next door to Sunset Terrace is Maple Ridge, one of the largest historic areas in Tulsa, as well as Wooward Park, the Tulsa Garden Center, and the Tulsa Historical Society. The facilities on Woodward Park’s thirty-four acres include water fountains and bathrooms, benches, picnic tables, swings, a covered gazebo, and a several walking trails. It is also the home of the Garden Center.

Both the historic Harwelden Mansion and Light Opera Oklahoma are very close to Sunset Terrace, as are Boulder Park and Maple Park. The Philbrook Museum of Art, which is less than one mile away from the neighborhood, and the Tulsa Performing Arts Center round out the area’s cultural offerings.
