Oak Creek Neighborhood

Oak Creek is a neighborhood in Lake Oswego, Oregon in the 97035 zip code. The borders of the neighborhood are Melrose Street on the south, Jefferson Parkway on the north, Interstate 5 on the west, and Del Prado Street on the east. This is primarily a residential neighborhood which has both single-family detached homes and condos or townhouses. There are sidewalks, lush greenery, and fir trees in this neighborhood.

The Interstate and main streets and thoroughfares make it easy to get around in the Oak Creek area. Portland Community College’s Sylvania Campus is located just a bit north of this neighborhood. This scenic campus is located on Mount Sylvania and only 10 miles north of downtown Portland. This campus is the location of the dental and nursing programs at PCC. Every winter, over 1,000 people visit this campus for the annual Powwow.

Lesser City Park is adjacent to the Sylvania Campus, with eight acres of open space and trails.

Westlake Park is primarily an athletic park with ball fields, basketball and tennis courts, and a playground. In addition, there are picnic facilities and a covered shelter.

Oswego Lake Country Club is a private 18-hole golf club just a short drive from Oak Creek. It is an historic course being almost 90 years old. The views from this course extend well into the Cascade Mountains. The variety of tees make this course a little more challenging than its shorter fairways seem to indicate.

For grocery shopping, there is a Trader Joe’s nearby.

Oak Creek Elementary School offers classes to students in Kindergarten through Grade 6. It has received a distinguished rating from Great Schools with a grade of 10/10.

Meadow Springs Community Church is located right outside the border of the neighborhood. It offers ministries for children, youth, and adults. They also offer a variety of Care Groups.
