Portland at a Glance
Laurelhurst Neighborhood
Portland’s Laurelhurst neighborhood lies east of 19th Avenue and west of 50th Avenue. Large cement arches over the sidewalks at the border of the neighborhood on main streets clearly indicate the boundaries of the community.
Laurelhurst has a large city park, Laurelhurst Park, which is dog-friendly and has many walking and jogging paths as well as picnic areas, basketball courts, and a large duck pond. Many of the homes in the neighborhood were built in the Victorian era and have double-paned windows on the east side of the residences to keep out drafts from the cold wind that comes down the Columbia Gorge in the winter.
On the eastern side of Laurelhurst are a large grocery store and a central shopping area with a movie theater, music store, thrift stores, and a few cafes and pubs, one of which offers weekly trivia nights. The Providence Portland Medical Center is in the western part of Laurelhurst.
Burnside Street runs directly through Portland, from east to west, separating the northern and southern parts of the city. Streets are in alphabetical order moving north, starting with Ankeny Street, which is one block south of Burnside Street. This provides a very easy mechanism to help residents get their bearings in north Portland.
Burnside is near the Belmont and Hawthorne shopping districts and even contains a small shopping area called the East Burnside Plaza, though this plaza contains only a small selection of shops.
Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church is in north Laurelhurst and has an adjacent bookstore.

About Our Deals
Apartment Finder utilizes the industry's largest and most complete database of real-time rents and availabilities to help you find an amazing deal on your next rental.
Price Drop
Apartment communities change their rental rates often - sometimes multiple times a day. We track the changes and keep you up to date when a rental rate decreases.
Best Value
"Best value" units are located in buildings rated three stars or higher. We label apartment rentals that are priced significantly less than similar high-quality units nearby.
Rent Specials
Apartment communities regularly advertise deals for new residents. Whether it's a move-in special or a free tv, we locate the rentals that offer a little something extra when you sign your lease.
Note: Based on community-supplied data and independent market research. Subject to change without notice.
