Woodstock Neighborhood

The Woodstock community of Portland’s is bordered on the west by the Willamette River, the tenth largest river in the United States. It is bordered on the east side by the War Veterans Memorial Freeway, also known as Interstate 205. Interstate 84, north of the Woodstock neighborhood, intersects with Interstate 205 allowing travelers to cross the Columbia River into the state of Washington.

Portland is a unique metropolitan area, rugged and rural and urbanized at the same time. The city is filled with millions of breathtaking hardwood and evergreen trees. Rivers running through the city are busy with barges, boats, and people.

Woodstock is located within a few miles of several prominent colleges. University of Portland, Portland State University, Willamette University, and Reed College offer excellent programs in medical fields, liberal arts, theology, computer science, and a variety of other significant areas of study.

Residents of Woodstock enjoy golfing at multiple courses and country clubs in the area. Eastmoreland Golf Course, west of the Woodstock neighborhood, is a gorgeous and challenging course in a beautiful park on the southwest border of Reed College. Waverly Country Club, a bit farther south, is situated along the picturesque Willamette River. Mount Scott Park, located east of Woodstock, offers a variety of other activities including a community center with a large pool, tennis courts, and softball fields.

Woodstock is one of the more historic neighborhoods in Portland. Many of the homes and buildings were built in the late 1800s, giving it a unique, old fashioned feeling. It is a peaceful place surrounded by nature’s bounty.
