New Cumberland, PA Houses for Rent

Across the Susquehanna River and slightly south of Harrisburg, New Cumberland next to Capital City Airport and New Cumberland Army Depot.

This riverfront borough was incorporated in 1831, but its history stretches back to 1689, when it was called Shawneetown. In 1725 the name was changed to Chartiers Landing, and changed again in 1750 when it became Lowther Manor. In 1814, the community was renamed Haldeman’s Town after a local business owner.

New Cumberland’s “Olde Town” is a charming collection of shops, restaurants, and other businesses encased in period architecture along wide, brick-lined sidewalks. Incorporated in 1831 as a mill town, New Cumberland still retains that small-community feel, but it is just minutes from downtown Harrisburg.

Rent an apartment in New Cumberland and enjoy the town’s events, such as the New Cumberland Summer Picnic, the Apple Festival, Community Day, concerts, and many seasonal and holiday celebrations.
