Encompassing the 15205 zip code area, this community is bounded by Berry Street and Chartiers Avenue on the north; Noblestown Road and Ridenour Avenue on the south; Charlton Street, Middletown Road, and East Steuben Street on the west; and Arnold Street, Berdella Street, and Azalia Street on the east.

This community is so-named because it is north of the Crafton neighborhood. Other neighboring communities include Ingram, Elliot, Westwood, and Sheraden. Most of what is considered Crafton Heights today became part of the city in the early 1920s. Many of the historic homes can still be seen here, but they are mixed with new construction of single-family homes and townhomes. Much of the neighborhood remains untouched wooded areas, and playing fields and tennis courts can be found in the northeast portion of the community.

Outside of neighborhood bounds, a variety of community parks and playgrounds are easily within walking distance, including West End-Elliot Overlook Park, which overlooks the nearby river. For local shopping, residents of Crafton Heights head to the nearby Crafton-Ingram Shopping Center.

Several golf courses are situated within a few miles west of Crafton Heights. The Crafton Golf Course near Thornburgh is a popular public course. More affluent area residents may belong to the Chartiers Heights Country Club, a prestigious private club that offers an 18-hole championship golf course, full-sized swimming pool and dining options.

For more to see and do, residents of Crafton Heights head east into downtown Pittsburgh, which offers a long list of cultural attractions, sports venues, entertainment, shopping, and dining options.
