Spring Hill City Neighborhood

Spring Hill City View is a neighborhood on the north side of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is roughly 10 minutes from the heart of the downtown area. This community encompasses the 15212 and 15214 zip codes and is part of Allegheny County.

The Spring Hill City View community spans roughly .830 square miles and has more than 3,050 residents. It is bounded by Interstate 279/579 on the west, Essen Street and Williams Road on the north, and Goehring Street and Diana Street on the south. One the east, it extends to the neighboring community of Spring Garden.

The community of Spring Hill City View was so named for its panoramic city views and rolling terrain, which includes plenty of lush greenery. The neighborhood is beautiful and conveniently located along the interstate, considered an ideal place to raise a family. Schools within neighborhood bounds include Spring Hill Elementary School on Damas Street. Residents also enjoy Spring Hill Playground, which is sandwiched between South Side Avenue and Romanhoff Street.

Several amenities and attractions can be found just west of Spring Hill City View, on the other side of the interstate. Sports fans head to this area to see the Pittsburgh Steelers NFL team play at the Heinz Stadium or cheer on the Pittsburgh Pirates MLB team at PNC Park. Allegheny General Hospital is also located in this area, providing a convenient health care option for community residents. Families also come to this area to enjoy outdoor recreation at the city’s oldest park – Allegheny Commons. Some of the attractions featured at the park are the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, Lake Elizabeth, Hazlett Theater, and the National Aviary.
