Upper Lawrenceville is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The zip code for the community is 15201. The borders of the neighborhood are the Allegheny River to the north, 62nd Street to the east, 51st Street to the west and Sawyer Street and north of Stanton Street on the south. Like most of East Pittsburgh, Upper Lawrenceville is a hilly neighborhood. Many of the streets are narrow and some are one-way streets. There are some streets with sidewalks. Public transportation runs along the main thoroughfares of the neighborhood. Butler Street has many local stores and businesses.

Shop ‘n Save is the place where most residents of Upper Lawrenceville do their grocery shopping. There is also a CVS Pharmacy in the same plaza for medical supplies and personal care items, as well as gifts and small toys, some food items, office and household supplies, as well as a host of other merchandise.

There are four small neighborhood parks in the Upper Lawrenceville neighborhood. 52nd Street Park is a small park that is mainly paved. McCandless Park offers park benches and a playground with lots of playground equipment. 57th Street Playground is a small park in a busy commercial area that has grass and small trees and a playground surrounded by a tall fence for safety’s sake. Duncan Park is a small neighborhood park that has a playground and a playscape.

Highland Park is just a short drive west of Upper Lawrenceville. In the park are the Pittsburgh Zoo and the PPG Aquarium. The park has a lot of amenities that all the residents of Pittsburgh enjoy. There are flower gardens and places to sit and enjoy the flowers and there are also bike trails, volleyball courts and a swimming pool. Pittsburgh Zoo has one of the top-ranked children’s zoos in the United States.
