The Eau Claire community lies just north of Columbia, South Carolina. Columbia is the state capital of South Carolina. The city was has been ranked as one of the best places to retire by the U.S. News and World Report.
The Eau Claire neighborhood in Columbia South Carolina is within walking distance to Columbia College. The private liberal arts women’s college was founded in 1854 and is one of the oldest colleges for women in the United States. Columbia International College and Eau Claire High School also serve the community.
The Eau Claire neighborhood park is a great place for residents to take a morning or afternoon stroll. The park is centrally located to the community, making it convenient to all Eau Claire residents. The community is fortunate to have Earlwood Park and Marshall Park nearby, as well. Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park are a few miles to the south of the community.
The community’s medical needs are largely attended to by nearby Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital.
Attractions convenient to the neighborhood are the Riverbanks Zoo, South Carolina State Museum, and the Columbia Museum of Art. The Riverbanks Zoo is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. A number of significant historical sites lie inside the zoo’s boundaries. Billed as South Carolina’s biggest artifact, the South Carolina State Museum tells the history of South Carolina through its many exhibits.
The Riverfront Park & Historic Canal is a 167-acre park which houses the City of Columbia’s first waterworks and other historical sites, as well.
