The University of South Carolina is located in downtown Columbia. The school has 350-degree programs and more than 27,000 students. The university employs more than 1,600 faculty members. The Horseshoe is in the center of the campus and is where many students go in between classes to study or have lunch.
Finlay Park is a popular spot in downtown Columbia. There is a man-made waterfall and stream, as well as two playgrounds, walking paths and a café. There are two porch swings for visitors to enjoy. Concerts and other special events are held regularly in Finlay Park.
