Donelson Hills Neighborhood

Situated on the shores of the Cumberland River, Donelson Hills is located within minutes of some of the best riverside parkland the region has to offer. Residents in this peaceful community can look out their windows and watch the river make its way toward Old Hickory Lake, which lies to the northeast.

Donelson Hills encompasses zip code 37214. The Cumberland River runs to the west and north of the community, and the Interstate 40 is located to the south.

Residents of Donelson Hills have a lot of outdoor recreational opportunities from which to choose. Right across the river is Shelby Bottoms, an 810-acre greenway and nature park that contains three miles of river view property, and twelve miles of trails. Hikers who follow the paths pass by hardwood forests, wetands, streams, and open fields. The Shelby Bottoms Nature Center’s building has a green roof that is covered with live native plants.

Located right next door to Shelby Bottoms is Shelby Park, which has baseball fields, playgrounds, a dog park, a community center, and is home to the Riverside Golf Course. This scenic site has a 9-hole executive course, and an 18-hole regulation course.

Kids of all ages love to visit Two Rivers Park Wave Country, which is located along the Cumberland’s shores to the north. This popular water park has attractions for every age and skill level, from wading pools, to a 40-foot water tower, and an 80-foot speed-slide plunge.

When it’s time for travel, the Nashville International Airport is conveniently located to the south of the community.
