Haywood Heights Neighborhood

Lying north of Haywood Lane is the Haywood Heights neighborhood. It is a neighborhood of mostly two-story and ranch homes set on large lots. Some estate-like homes can be found in the south part of the neighborhood set on expansive lawns. Haywood Heights is convenient to I-24 and Nashville International Airport in zip code 35211. Many significant natural, cultural and historic areas are close by, too.

Just east of Haywood Heights is J. Percy Priest Reservoir with a half-dozen parks and public-use areas scattered along its shores. With 14,000-acre J. Percy Priest Lake, favorite recreational activities can be found here. A variety of hiking trails allow for short walks to day-long hikes. Sellars Farm Archaeological Area allows visitors to explore prehistoric remains of a Native American community.

Perhaps the most famous Nashville site, the Grand Ole Opry, is the place for entertainment. Begun in 1925, it has since become the home of America’s musical legends. The Opry is about 30 minutes north of Haywood Heights.

A top historic site in Nashville is The Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson. A National Historic Landmark, the 1,100-acre grounds and buildings, including the mansion, is one of the largest open areas in the city. The Hermitage traces much of the country’s early history.

Neighborhood retailers include Harding Mall, with Target and Wal-Mart stores just south on Bell Road. Luxury stores and favorites Dillard’s and Macy’s can be found at The Mall at Green Hills.

Golf courses, neighborhood wildlife and natural areas are quite convenient. Both public golf and private country clubs surround the area, one of the favorite public courses being Harpeth Hills at Percy Warner Park.
