Sunnyside Neighborhood

With prestigious Belmont University to the west and Sevier Park to the south, the Sunnyside neighborhood of Nashville offers residents many amenities in a great atmosphere. The established neighborhood has mature shade trees, large lawns, and an interesting mix of architectural styles. Arts and Craft style homes blend with small brick homes, charming cottages and new apartment complexes.

The boundary roads are Acklen Avenue to the north and Kirkwood Avenue to the south. I-65 and I-440 intersect just southeast of the area in zip code 35204.

Residents really need look no further than neighborhood Sevier Park to enjoy a great park, a little history of Nashville, and summer concerts. Presiding over the park in stately elegance is Sevier Mansion, and each summer four concerts shine the spotlight on local talent. The 12South series has received national attention.

A pub, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurant lie in the northeast corner of the neighborhood. A short drive southwest is the Green Hills branch of the Nashville Public Library system, and one of Nashville’s most upscale malls, the Mall at Green Hills.

Golfers enjoy play at one of several courses. Percy Warner Golf Course and Harpeth Hills Golf Course, both in Percy Warner Park are great public courses. Belle Meade Country Club is the closest private club.

A short drive east is the Nashville Zoo and Seven Oaks Disc Golf Course. A bit farther east is a great water and outdoor activities area – J. Percy Priest Reservoir, with a commercial water park and great state park in addition to many public use and protected areas.

Vanderbilt University and Peabody College are less than five miles away.
