Sunset View Neighborhood

Three hundred miles of the Cumberland River flows through Tennessee. The city of Nashville is located on the banks of the Cumberland River. The river is a source of entertainment for the residents of Sunset View a neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee. The General Jackson, a very large showboat provides its guests with scenic cruises down the Cumberland River. The cruises have a variety of wonderful entertainment and delicious food. The showboat is a very historic symbol in Nashville and is named after the first steamboat to sail on the Cumberland River in 1817.

The residents of Sunset View can enjoy their own community park by playing on its golf course, walking their dogs in its dog park, and viewing the beauty of the Cumberland River. The Greenway and Nature Park has twelve miles of trails and features a hardwood forest, open fields, streams, and wetlands.

Zoos are fascinating and fun and the Nashville Zoo is no exception. It is home of “Critter Encounters” a place where tourist can observe animals up close such as African pygmy goats and camels. Other exhibits include the Flamingo Lagoon where flocks of Caribbean Flamingos reside and Gibbon Island which is a place designed for all kinds of primates.

Nashville is also home to the Grand Ole Opry which has been a part of the Nashville community since 1925. The Opry started as a live radio program and is still broadcasting. It also hosts weekly live stage performances from some of the greatest past, present, and future music artists who never fail to keep the Nashville experience lively and pleasurable.
