Whitebridge Neighborhood

The White Bridge neighborhood is located on the south side of White Bridge Road, across from the Tennessee State Technical Institute. That makes the location ideal for students who want to attend community college. Commonly referred to by its previous name, Nashville Tech, the school also offers adult classes on a variety of subjects. The nearest middle school is H. G. Hill and the nearest high school is Hillwood.

White Bridge Road, also called White Bridge Pike, is a main thoroughfare on the west side of Nashville. Driving east on the same street, the name changes to Woodmont Boulevard at the corner of Harding Pike. Go in the opposite direction on White Bridge and right after the Interstate 40 overpass, it becomes Briley Parkway. So neighborhoods connected to the road have ready access for commuting to downtown, a ten to fifteen minute drive away on the Interstate or intersecting Charlotte Pike.

White Bridge Road itself is predominantly businesses including the Lions Head mall, a Target store, and other strip malls with retail services and dining, fast food included, on both sides of the street.

Behind Whitebridge, walking distance away, is McCabe Park, an actual park and not to be confused with its adjoining neighborhood called Sylvan Park. McCabe Park includes a basketball court, baseball field, a public golf course, and a children’s play area.

Like most of Nashville, the White Bridge Road residential area is hilly and heavily forested but there are both homes and condos in the neighborhood.
