Highland Neighborhood

Highland is a very popular Austin neighborhood, located just north of downtown. It is bordered by I-35 on the east side, North Lamar Boulevard to the west, and Highway 183 to the north. The southern border follows Denson Drive, then Airport Boulevard, to East Koenig Lane. The neighborhood contains Austin Community College-Highland Campus, several restaurants and shops, a spa, several bus stops, and a variety of businesses.

Rent an apartment in Highland and you’ll be just a few minutes north of the University of Texas at Austin, the Texas Capitol Building, Austin State Hospital, and the Frank Erwin Center. Schools in or near Highland include Reilly Elementary, Brown Elementary, Webb Middle School, Lanier High School, and McCallum High School. Residents living in the Highland neighborhood are served by the Austin ISD.
