El Dorado West Neighborhood

El Dorado West is a desert neighborhood located west and slightly north of downtown El Paso, Texas. This community is located to the southeast of the intersection of Highway 375 and Highway 62/Montana Avenue. El Dorado West consists of contemporary brick and adobe medium-sized homes, which were built close to the street.

El Dorado High School is located in the southeast corner of the neighborhood. Though the school only has been opened since 2003, it has established itself as one of the top schools in West Texas in its short existence. In fact, the school’s counseling team has been recognized at both the state and national levels.

Other schools serving El Dorado West include Pebble Hills Elementary School, Indian Ridge Middle School, J. M. Hanks High School, and Jane A. Hambric School.

Some of the more popular restaurants in the area include La Real Torta, Mini Market Restaurant Barajas, Wing Daddy’s, and Chico’s Tacos.

For those looking apartments and condos, popular choices include Hueco Valley Residential, Dieter Pines Apartments, Wind Tree Apartments, and Las Ventanes Apartments.

Not far to the west of El Dorado West are the El Paso International Airport and the US Army’s Biggs Field. Beyond the airport is the military base Fort Bliss, which is the home of the US 2nd Armored Division and supporting units. Sections of Fort Bliss are open to the public with the proper permits.
