El Paso at a Glance
Festival Hills Neighborhood
Festival Hills is certainly one of the most scenic neighborhoods in the city of El Paso. As its neighbor to the east, the Franklin Mountains is a stunning backdrop to this community of mostly single-family homes. It is by far, one of the closest to the mountains, but does border some other neighborhoods, as well, with Upper Mesa Hills to its north, Mesa Hills, and Lomas Del Ray on its southern side.
Festival Hills is centrally located to give its residents plenty of things to do. It is within reach of three shopping centers, those being Fiesta Shopping Center, Carousel Plaza, and the Coronado Shopping Center. Museums can also be found adjacent to the neighborhood, as well. The University of El Paso Centennial Museum is but a few miles away, as well as the International Museum of Art. The El Paso Museum of History is also a must see.
Elementary schools in the area include Green, Johnson, and Western Hills. On the intermediate or middle school level, Morehead or Bassett are within the district. Finally, high school-age children will attend either Coronado or Sunset High School. Those are the public school options, but there are certainly private schools to choose from in addition.
Numerous parks are in the area for use by residents. Mesa Park is right down the road from Festival Hills, as well as Stanton Park. Over to the west of the neighborhood, there are Paul Harvey and Sunland Parks to choose from. Perhaps the best attraction is the Franklin Mountains State Park, which residents can enjoy from the Wyler Aerial Tramway that takes them 7,000 feet up the mountain.
If medical attention is required, two facilities are close by — Sierra Medical Center West and Las Palmas Rehabilitation Hospital.
