Pendale Neighborhood

Quiet, country lane-style streets and expansive landscapes make the community of Pendale one of El Paso’s more scenic neighborhoods. A variety of pecan orchards can be found growing throughout the community, giving the area a peaceful, agricultural feel. Pendale encompasses zip code 79907. The Interstate 10 runs to the north and east of the neighborhood, and the El Paso International Airport lies to the northeast.

Besides strolling Pendale’s quiet streets and enjoying the scenery, residents can be found enjoying themselves at Marion Manor Park, which sits in the western section of the neighborhood. This picturesque park is affiliated with a next-door elementary school, and has a playground, basketball courts, and a multi-use field.

When it is time for a game of soccer, tennis, or basketball, residents flock to Lomaland Park, which is located to the north of Pendale. Zaragosa Park to the east brings in baseball and soccer players with its multiple baseball and soccer fields.

Rooting for the home team is fun at the El Paso Community College Baseball Stadium, located to the northwest. This well-designed sports complex is home to the college’s baseball team, the Tejanos. The college, which opened in 1969 with 900 students, now has 20,000 credit students enrolled in a wide variety of undergraduate courses, and over 8,000 continuing education students.

Travelers appreciate the fact that the El Paso International Airport is located a short distance away to the north. This commercial airport was built in 1929 and covers a vast 7,100 acres. Thanks to El Paso’s generally mild, clear weather, flights are rarely canceled.
