Resler Canyon Neighborhood

Resler Canyon is one of the more interesting neighborhoods in the city of El Paso. Its close proximity to the northwest portion of El Paso and the Franklin Mountains National Park has allowed it to play a significant role in area conservation. It is home to one of the most beautiful arroyos in El Paso and to the Wakeem/Teschner Nature Preserve.

The Wakeem/Teschner Nature Preserve is one of the most popular local attractions, giving residents the chance to enjoy the area in its natural state. There are no man-made walking paths. Instead, water cut a path through the mountains over many years. There are also other nearby parks, including Irwin J. Lambka, Paul Harvey, and H.T. Pinsford Park, to name a few.

Additional activities include golf, which is available at the El Paso Country Club. Shoppers can visit numerous local malls, including Sunland Park, Crossroad Village Shopping Center, and even a nice antiques area, the Mesa Street Antique Mall.

Several schools serve the area. Elementary choices in the neighborhood include Putnam, Zach White, and Polk. Dr. Hornedo or Da Vinci is the local middle school, and high schools include Coronado High, El Paso Academy West, and Franklin High. Westside Library fufills the needs of the community for books and research, while El Paso County Community College is closest for higher education.

Two hospitals are within two miles of the neighborhood. Sierra Medical Center West and Del Sol Medical Center are located northwest of Resler Canyon.
