Tierra Humida Neighborhood

The recently established Tierra Humida neighborhood is filled with both comfortable older homes and new, custom-built construction. House designs range from one-story ranch to tri-level, and most have garages. The neighborhood streets are lined with sidewalks, making it a great area to take a stroll and enjoy El Paso’s mountain scenery. Located in the 79938 zip code, Tierra Humida is bordered by Tierra Este Road on the east, Pebble Hills Boulevard on the south, Highway 374 on the west, and Edgemere Boulevard on the north.

The Socorro Independent School District serves Tierra Humida and the rest of east El Paso. Students are zoned to attend the K-8 Paso Del Norte, El Dorado Ninth Grade Academy, and El Dorado High School. Both Paso Del Norte and El Dorado High School are within walking distance. Nearby Catholic schools include the K-8 Our Lady of the Valley and St. Raphael Schools.

The nearby Highway 375 loops around El Paso and connects to Fort Bliss, a US Army outpost with more than 7,000 employees. Franklin Mountains State Park is about 35 minutes away on the 375 loop, offering visitors opportunities to hike, cycle, and picnic. Visits can take a leisurely drive through the park to view colorful sunsets and Texas wildflowers.

The neighborhood is located near several grocery stores. Vista Central Market, an upscale Hispanic grocery, lies less than a mile away. Target and Walmart also are close, as well as an Albertson’s, which has a pharmacy and a bakery.
