Outer Far North Central Neighborhood

Outer Far North Central is a large area north of Downtown San Antonio, Texas. The area’s northern border is Highway 1604 (Charles William Anderson Loop). This section of San Antonio contains a variety of shopping centers, including Vineyard Shopping Center and Northwoods Shopping Center. The neighborhoods in Outer Far North Central include Blanco Woods, Canyon Creek Village, the Waters at Deerfield, and the Park at Deerfield.

Located about 16 miles north of downtown and 10 miles west of San Antonio International Airport, this area is a fantastic place to rent your next apartment – slightly apart from downtown, but not so much that you can’t easily head to the nightclubs, businesses, theaters, shops, and museums. San Antonio College, Witte Museum, Brackenridge Park, and the San Antonio Zoo are just a short distance from Outer Far North Central.

Salado Creek Greenway is about a ten-minute drive and provides 2.8 miles of trails for walking jogging and biking. Phil Hardberger Park is a 311-acre park in the heart of the city. The park offer restored native landscape, a planned Urban Ecology Center, trails, picnic facilities, hiking and biking trails, and a dog park.

This part of San Antonio has an abundance of golf courses and parks to choose from including Kenwood Park, Olmos Basin Golf Course, Brackenridge Park Municipal Golf Course, Fort Sam Houston, and the San Antonio Country Club.

San Antonio is the 7th largest city in the United States and the 2nd largest city in Texas, brimming with many places to visit. These include the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Tower of the Americas, Sea World, and Six Flags Fiesta Theme Park. These attractions bring in over 26 million visitors each year. The city was named by Spanish explorers and missionaries in 1691.

San Antonio is host to many large employers including Fortune 500 companies such as Valero Energy Corporation, USAA and Clear Channel Communications. Other major employers include H-E-B, Whataburger, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Kohl’s, Allstate, Chase Bank, Philips, Wachovia, Toyota, Sysco, Caterpillar, AT&T, Citigroup, Boeing, QVC, Kinetic Concepts, Frost National Bank, Taco Cabana and Lockheed Martin.
