Carter Riverside Neighborhood

The neighborhood of Carter Riverside is part of Fort Worth. The community is located in the northeast portion of the intersection of North Freeway and Airport Freeway. When the railroad arrived in 1876, Fort Worth became known as a cow town. By the end of the nineteenth century, the natural progression of industry was a transition to the meat packing industry. The population of Fort Worth at that point exceeded 26,000. More than 150 years have passed since the cow town was formed, and Fort Worth is now the nation’s seventeenth-largest city.
