Braeswood Place Neighborhood

A collection of subdivisions make up the community of Braeswood Place, located six miles southwest of downtown Houston, Texas. The Braeswood Place Homeowners Association was established in 1951 and offers clubs, an annual 4th of July Parade and Picnic, a neighborhood security program, and an annual Home and Garden Tour.

Braeswood Place contains two local parks: Karl Young Park contains a playground, walking path, and tennis courts while Helen’s Park contains a fountain and open green space. Braeswood Place is two miles southwest of Rice University and three miles southwest of Hermann Park. Hermann Park is a popular destination with over 500 acres of park space. This park (in addition to playgrounds and picnic areas) contains the Houston Garden Center, Miller Outdoor Theatre, the Houston Zoo, an 18-hole public golf course, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
